Position Summary

We are looking for a Project Manager to play a key role in the planning and coordination of construction work for the buildings under his/her responsibility. The person will be based at our Longueuil office, located near the metro.

Main Responsibilities

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Analyze and evaluate the construction work required in the buildings under your responsibility.
  • Plan and establish resource requirements, budgets, cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Prepare specifications for calls for tender.
  • Research potential suppliers and contractors, evaluate proposed concepts and negotiate prices.
  • Ensure the quality of work carried out by professionals and contractors.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Administer construction contracts according to agreed payment terms.
  • Control project costs to keep within budget.
  • Resolve problems encountered during project completion.
  • Provide added value to tenants and owners by supporting them in project planning and execution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting their needs and expectations.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of project status on a regular basis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and laws, in particular the Building Code.

Skills Profile and Required Qualifications

YOUR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Collegial diploma (DEC) in architectural technology, building mechanics, construction or a bachelor’s degree in engineering;
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a position with similar responsibilities;
  • Knowledge of construction rules, policies, procedures, laws and standards;
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written), functional English;
  • Proficiency in Office suite;
  • Ability to read plans;
  • Knowledge of Autocad and MS Project;
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
